Gert Schmidt studied civil engineering and economics, gaining experience as an officer in the German armed forces and as an international sales manager at a mechanical engineering company before embarking on his consulting career.
More than 30 years ago, Gert Schmidt switched to executive search consulting, initially with Mercuri Urval and Ray Berndtson, before establishing the German branch of Eric Salmon & Partners in 1996 and managing it for 16 years. In 2012 Gert Schmidt founded his own consulting company under the umbrella of Signium International, which he has been running as an executive search boutique under his own name since 2021.
